Two 1:12 scale dollhouse miniature original paintings.
I finished two little miniature paintings yesterday, inspired by the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
One is of a little girl "Runaway" running away from her parents who are obviously occupied talking. Watercolor with a little bit of ink.
It's listed on eBay at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290386424711
The other is "The Hot Seat" - a garden bench in the tropical garden hothouse in the ABGs.
It's all in watercolor. The image size on both is 1.5" - but I've left a white border around the outside that can help with framing.

3 little ducklings - ink sketch on 100+ year old paper
3 of the cutest little baby ducklings on 100+ year old ledger paper with copperplate handwriting on it - my original art. I'm loving doing these. :)
They were in a country store nearby (Rainey's in Sam's Valley). The black background is just for display purposes.

Bunny rabbit fun! Original art.
Just listed on etsy (handmade online selling site).
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=36831359
A very unique, one-of-a-kind artwork. A great conversation piece.
A book out of a handwritten ledger book - this page is dated 1905 and has accounting details on it in copperplate handwritten script. Torn edge where I tore it out of the ledger. And the bottom is cut fairly straight across, making size approx 10.25 x 8" (SFA). I've printed a scroll of flowers (the ONLY thing printed) in pink.
Then I've sketched (HAND-DRAWN) a cute black and white rabbit on it, in ink pen.
The old book page is heavier than typing paper, and is 'as is' - in line with being over 100 years old - some of its condition is slight discoloration.
Art Prints / Posters of this are available on Zazzle @ http://www.zazzle.com/artistjillian* - there may also be other gift items, cards, etc with this image on them also.

My latest artwork - my first acrylic horse painting.
This original acrylic horse painting I did last night is now listed on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290380157555 I've also included a gallery of my horse paintings, seems I'm doing a lot of horses, don't know why. Though this is my first acrylic, the others have been watercolor.
It's an ACEO - 2.5x3.5" on Canson canva-paper.

Circa 1900 house, Rogue River, Oregon - pen & ink sketch
Tuesday, September 22, 2009
Finished artwork - watercolor. "Wash House Women"
Friday, September 11, 2009
The painting progresses ...
Monday, September 07, 2009
"Wash House Whores" watercolor painting in progress.
First time I've done a larger watercolor in several years. My inspiration is two wonderful women who constantly are part of dress-up re-enactments of the old west in a nearby historic town. This was at a special event, where they guarded the 'wash house'.
So is from photo studies I took.
It's about 14" x 22". I'm thinking of possibly entering some competitions with it. I just got downsized from my job (the 5th downsize in 20 months :( ).
This is not easy to photograph - so bear with me.

Shimmering, unusual technique for an artwork OCTOPUS
Well... this one was FUN!!!!
I've used the technique before, about 8 or 9 years ago, on a larger work. I've been going to do it on ACEOs but haven't seemed to get around to it. I was recently reminded of it in a current magazine, so decided to do one, and 'hit' on the idea of doing an octopus.
The auction is 3 days only.
MUST see to appreciate.
The listing had WIP photos of the process.
This shimmers with iridescent colors!
watercolor + ink
ACEO - 2.5 x 3.5" on watercolor paper.
"Deep Sea-cur"

"Cupcake" cute sketch for baby announcements?
This original of this image is up on eBay for sale. I have put it on Cafe Press as products, and used it as a guide to make a graphic avatar.
A fun one to do. Not realistic of course, but cute never-the-less.
Just a very simple watercolor and ink ACEO (2.5x3.5")
Just listed.
"CupCake"
A whimsical artwork, watercolor & ink that I did a while back. I've used it as the basis for a tiny graphic available on networking sites, and also on Cafe Press where I've put it onto bibs, onesies, together with the lettering. A fun work. I thought it was cute. Hope you do, too.

Cupcake - baby girl in bath: Bib
I had fun creating this. A bib with my artwork - watercolor and ink - little girl in a bath with her rubber duck. I actually did a graphic artwork based on this, for network sites, but this is the original hand-done art. I labeled this "CupCake" in a great font - again, this was fun to create.
And it seemed just perfect on a bib in my Cafe Press store.
http://www.cafepress.com/jilliancrider.361022621
INSTINCT - illustration theme.
It seemed appropriate that these two kittens be labeled 'instinct'. As kittens have to learn about their new world, much of it by instinct.
This is a 5x7" watercolor I did a while back.
I have just put up this image onto ImageKind (see top of this page), so that prints can be obtained. I also sell it as ACEOs from my website, and on giftware, and so forth on Cafe Press.
These were two little kittens - a tuxedo and a tabby, waiting for adoption at my local animal shelter. I sure hope they found good homes.

My ACEOs incorporating graphic design - journal covers
I have a lot of scans of my old, sold ACEOs, and love using them for other purposes. I've shown before how I created magnets from them. Now I've been even more creative, putting them on the front of journals, with other design elements.

For you: Promotional ACEO enclosures, personalized.
ACEO accessories. Listed on etsy (seller id: artistjillian)
I'm having fun designing these...
Buy this digital sheet with your PERSONAL customization. Print as MANY times as you want. Put your ACEO in a penny sleeve. Tuck it inside the cut-out, folded THANK YOU note card, with your promotional text on the back. Pop it inside the cut-out, folded envelope, with promotional text and greeting on the front. The back flap of the envelope explains ATC, ACEO acronyms + size. You can print at will, but not to share with others, or to alter in any way once purchased. I do the custom lettering.
Once packed, you can then put this in some substantial packaging - but this makes a really nice presentation package for your buyer, or if giving ACEO as a gift.
... as I said ... much fun. More designs to come!
I wanted to share these with y'all.

Some of my best ACEO art images as magnets.
I absolutely love that I've been able to put some of my very best images onto good quality magnets for sale.
They make great presents and are not mass-produced.
I've sorted them by category.
I have put my name on each of them, as I am the artist, and bank on my name a lot, as I'm reasonably well known. If you'd like them without this, please let me know, and I'll provide them without my name.
ALSO, I'd love to hear your opinion, as to whether I SHOULD put my name on them, or not.
I'd love to be selling more, and if that is what it takes, I'll alter them. Thanx.
My magnets are HERE: http://www.cafepress.com/jilliancrider/1844971

Fuchsia: Fancy Frills - original watercolor painting.
ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR PAINTING
SFA - small format art
"Fuchsia - Fancy Frills" Available on eBay.
by Jillian Crider
on heavy archival watercolor paper.
image size 5.5" x 6"
The painting is extended onto the mat. The mat is
part of the painting.
matted size 11" x 11.5"
"This artwork is from 1993 when I created a series of fuchsia paintings for a calendar (never published), and subsequently for an exhibition.
This painting remains from that time, it was never sold, just packed away.
Personally I love this work, I love fuchsias, and this is just too lovely to be stored away and not seen.
Fuchsias are such 'happy' plants - so colorful and festive, and, in turn, this painting is a 'feel good' painting.
I'm hoping someone will give it a good home. Thank you."

"Sittin' Pretty" ACEO Little Girl in Victorian Garb.
This is a little girl, dressed up in Victorian costuming.
She is part of a local historical town's re-enactment society.
She was totally adorable. I want to do a large painting, but settled on an ACEO - which is 2.5x3.5".
I have her listed on eBay. But only for 3 days.
She took hours to do. There is much more detail than shows in the scan.

OK. I worked it out.
I went back to my Firefox history to find out what site. It was scan4fast - I googled it - it is a malware site and is infected. BEWARE.
It truly is terrifying. I have a screen shot of it. Showing Trojans and other security problems. Scary! I've been on the net some 15 years, and HAVE had viruses, so they scare the heck out of me, but so far the iAntiVirus is well over half-way checking, and still showing no sign of infected objects.
I think if I had any, it would show by now. I did a lot of downloads today, so really thought I had picked up something.
But thought I'd put this on my blog in case someone else experiences the same. The funky font thing was possibly unrelated?
So, if you're about to install Jungle Unlimited font - perhaps be careful?

iMac problem - I know it's not art, but ...
I have an iMac. I had trouble putting it in 'sleep', and actually couldn't open it again. So had to power off. When it came back, all my arial font had changed to an almost unreadable font. I couldn't read my browsers, so google searches were fruitless.
I opened up 'word' and copied the funky font from out of an email, over to there. It showed up as being Arial, but it wasn't.
I took Arial out of my font folder. It still didn't change.
I had to browse through all my fonts, looking for the Ag sample that matched. I ended up being 'JungleStandard.ttf'. So I took that out of the folder, and put the regular Arial back. That solved the problem, but immediately, in firefox I got a page coming up that showed my folders, and was something about iscan? It identified all these viruses, Trojans, and insisted I download an exe file immediately.
It was SCARY, and it wouldn't let me access other tags on Firefox. I couldn't close it.
As far as I know (I'm only a new iMac user), exe are not the program files for iMacs.
I was told I didn't need virus protection for my iMac.
I tried downloading clamxav, but couldn't work out how to do that.
I have downloaded a free virus checker. iAntiVirus - it's currently checking, and has not come up with any infections after about 15 minutes and 302,000 objects checked.
I'm also running trend on Safari, with no results showing. I'm not sure if it's doing anything.
Well, I just thought I'd report this in case anyone encounters funky font instead of arial on their iMacs. That scan thing was terribly realistic.

ORIGINAL ACRYLIC ON CANVAS
MINIATURE FINE ART - 2.5" x 3"
