April '05 update.

April 05 Update: Well, think this is the 5th month in a row that I have had work in the gallery. This time it was juried. 280 paintings and only 66 got in. "Xanadu", my boat painting done a few months ago (see blog post) received that honour. This month's 'Salon' will be on art marketing and shows.
I'll post pictures soon.
Hello to whoever ... :)

Small Format Art sale. AAC monthly artist's 'Salon'.

March Update: The gallery had no formal juried exhibition this month, but had a really fun event with unframed art on sale. I couldn't help but purchase some of the works at 'bargain' prices. I exhibited 2 artworks - pastels: one nude, one plein air.
March also marked my second monthly 'Salon' session. The first, in February was on prints, this one was on 'miniature and small format art'. This was one of the first times I have shown my miniature art gallery (roombox) to other artists.
I also attended an etching/aquatint workshop one weekend. As hard as I worked and as messy as I got. Ink all over me! It is not something I think I would make a career of!
I was quite pleased with the initial prints I got, but not so much with the others.
I'll post them here when I get a chance.
Regards,
Jillian

UPDATE:
30th October 2011
"The Model" 5x7" etching/aquatint is shown above one of quite a few I did.

Traveling Art Show - painting accepted.

February 05 update: This is the 'BIG' show. The annual traveling show (I'm the director/organiser of it). I did a painting the week before to make sure I had a new piece to submit. Of the 3 I submitted the new one DID get in. I'll post it here later. It's a watercolor. I'm really glad to get something in - the show goes from Buckhead to Dawsonville, Carrollton, then to the Quinlan Arts Center in Gainesville. So I'm really proud to have my work included. I went yesterday to take photos of the current display at Carrollton, and the ladies there loved my art they said. *grin*

I also got a 'reject' of the Venetian Glass Blowers from the National show. I'm not quite sure what I will do with this work now. I will submit it elsewhere, though.

Jillian

Still busy ...

Catching up ... I guess I have just been SO busy. January I submitted 3 works for the monthly Buckhead exhibition and got one accepted, making my second in a row. It was 'Perfection in Pink'. My tiny 6x6" pink rose I painted a few months back, and showed here, on my blog.

I only submitted it at the last moment, and didn't expect it to get in - mainly because of being 'small format'. This is a favourite of mine, so guess in that way I'm not surprised.

Jillian
