This 5x7" Watercolor painting of an appaloosa horse is from the Rogue Valley, Oregon. Title: Appaloosa Rogue. There is 8+ hours work in this.
I'm pleased with the results, but was tired and it became tedious near the end, and was scared of ruining it.

Wouldn't you know it? The one I got framed especially didn't get in! One that was previously rejected got in, also a 2ndry print of my aquatint got in.

The Quinlan is a fabulous venue, and the reception last week was a treat.
We also had a great showing in Dawsonville and Carrollton.
Today I received the review in the Gainesville newspaper. As the director for it I was so proud to get a terrific write-up. But one remark re MY artwork caught me by surprise.

The traveling show has reached its last venue - The Quinlan Arts Center in Gainesville. It opens on the 12th with an art reception, and goes until end July.

This is 6 months in a row that I've had work in.
I always find it interesting that work that gets rejected one show, gets accepted the next, as was in this case.
It was a watercolor of a horse on a beach at daybreak - a smaller version of a large one done previously. I named it 'Daybreak'.

This time it was juried. 280 paintings and only 66 got in. "Xanadu", my boat painting done a few months ago received that honour. This month's 'Salon' will be on art marketing and shows.

2 'traditional' works were rejected.
The good news is that one was accepted. It was a 'first' for me - submitting a screenprint - or something 'different'. I suspect that if I had painted this, it would not have been accepted. However, since it was a screenprint, it was.
Maybe I should enter into a debate on art.
