Upcoming exhibition of pastel art, by members of the Pastel Artists of South Australia group (PASA), and delighted to be part of it. It opens Friday night. I've seen a preview of some of the wonderful art to be shown, with at least one that I'd LOVE to have for my own.Why not pop along during the exhibition to see some truly wonderful pastel artworks - and there will be artist Just Mehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06081081064682774708noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5063190.post-90156445779660057682019-06-05T19:57:00.000-07:002019-06-05T19:57:18.635-07:00
A watercolour I did probably about 10 years ago? An ACEO (Art Cards, Editions and Originals - always 2.5x3.5") collectible artwork. A little girl who's kind mother allowed me to photo her at the Port Adelaide Fisherman's Wharf Market around 2002. To me she made the perfect mermaid, I included a leafy seadragon in my painting. She had such an appealing impish look on her face.

Sometimes, art is fun to do. I did several of these with critters.
Ink sketches on vintage old handwritten ledger pages. I added graphic scrolls, to offset my sketches.
All sold quite easily.
I may do more, someday.Check out my work. Follow, 'like', share. Thank you.www.JillianCrider.comwww.BlueThumb.com.au/jillian-crider

Nothing is more heartwarming than the glow of a lamp in the window - a
warm embrace of a 'Welcome Home' especially amid the cold chill and bare

A 'forgotten' art.
Remembering 3 women artists from South Australia.
Chasing my memories, and finding out things that have a 'wow' factor.
In my late teens I went to a 'commercial art' course for one term at Norwood Technical Collage. It meant a long travel by bus from Grange. But was the closest that I imagined having a career in art my teacher was Marjorie Hann.

Cleaning out cupboards certainly bring back memories. So it's story-telling time.
I've always been an artist.
I attended Elizabeth O'Grady Kindergarten in Grange, South Australia from about age 3 until 5. I most enjoyed poetry and listening to books being read and showed the illustrations. But the main fascination was with the finger paints (powder mixed with water), where we stood in Just Mehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06081081064682774708noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5063190.post-21732809797798128542016-11-15T21:34:00.000-08:002016-11-15T21:34:43.294-08:00Small Format Art Exhibition - 200+ INTERNATIONAL artists - online auction to benefit cancer research

A16x12" pastel W-I-P leopard cub that I started work on in the early hours of this morning. The first pastel that I've done in many years. Love the medium, the range of colours is what turns me on, mostly.
